As a fan of horror movies, I was excited to watch the 2019 film “Sweetheart” directed by JD Dillard. The movie tells a story of a young woman named Jenn who survives a shipwreck and ends up stranded on an island. However, her experience turns out to be far from a relaxing vacation as she soon discovers that she is not alone on the island.
The plot of the movie is intriguing and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. The opening scene sets the tone for the story as we see Jenn (played by Kiersey Clemons) struggling to survive in the middle of the ocean after her boat sinks. The tension does not let up as we follow her journey on the island and watch her try to escape from a mysterious creature that seems to be stalking her.
One thing that stood out to me in “Sweetheart” was the exceptional acting by Kiersey Clemons. She portrayed Jenn’s fear and determination in a way that felt authentic and relatable. Her character development throughout the movie was well-executed, and by the end of it, I found myself rooting for her survival.
